It has a real 3D look to it, how did you do the floor?

For the floor, I used the pattern from the game, made a tall repeated version of it, and then simply changed the angle of my image to give a 3D illusion. Cutting the top of it in a round way helped! :D

Really nice piece, any chance of hearing about the technique used for the focus?

Oh, easy! I played around with gaussian blur on different layers in After Effects. It's quite a simple effect. It's just SUPER heavy for the animation.
