UNRULY CENSORSHIP!

I just wanted to take a moment to express my anger about having some artwork pulled off DevianArt for depicting underage pornography, to which I take great offense.

I will keep this short because I added most of how I feel about this to my aurthor comments here on Newgrounds, here is the link

clearly I havn't drawn a young naked girl, rather a mature woman but DeviantArt's claim is that the character is more widely known as an underage girl therefore I cannot have this posted on their site, even if I attempt to make the character look older or explicitly say that the character is over the age of concent, I belive this be unruly censorship

but let me know what you guys think, have I have I done something wrong or is DeviantArt taking this to far?

They should call it SterilePrudeArt. It's clearly a case of false adverting when they call themselves DeviantArt.

Also, Hinata is now 23 years old. Newgrouds will always be superior to SterilePrudeArt.

Lol SterilePrudeArt! You are 100% correct about them false advertising, it's a site about art that doesn't understand what art is.
I even debated the fact that she becomes a mother in the show,

It just made me angery because it's like they are accusing me of distributing child porn and I never knew devart was like that, doesn't really matter, newgrounds has always felt more like my home on the internet and after this event I am definitely going to support NG more and more.

i really hate how people think that those "fictional" characters are underaged, i mean even if they were undeaged they r still fictional for god sake.
beside how is hinata underaged, didnt she become a woman at the end of the manga -_-"
above all most anime characters look underaged but they r "over 18" so that stupid censorship should be removed

DA has been starting to anger me as well lately, that's why i started coming here more again. they removed some of my stuff before because it was "pornographic" which to be fair it was, but yeah da is kind of restrictive. thats stupid what they did to you though, nice animation btw :) and even i can tell the age difference and i barely even watched the show.

I'm glad to hear I'm not only one having issues with DA and I'm also glad to hear you're spending more time on Newgrouns, it is a great quality site that's pretty underrated these days, that's part of the reason I want to support NG more.

I think people should be able to draw whatever they want to, but there are laws in place in some countries against the creation of pornography involving underage subjects REGARDLESS IF THEY ARE DRAWN OR NOT and certain high traffic websites don't want to deal with that sort of law judo if theres ever a problem with a whistle blower especially being mainstream international entities on the internet. Compared to DA newgrounds' art community is tiny as shit and the base that uses it is comparatively shittier moral wise being primarily made up of little boys. Conclusion people look pretty unfavorably on pedophilia and there are laws in place that are made so they cant use loopholes to distribute stuff like that, like drawing underage shit.

Apart from your comment about the Newgrounds community mainly being little boys with shitty morals, I'd say well said.
I can understand what you mentioned about the laws of other countries but my rant was more about the fact that my artwork did not depict an underage person but was taken down because the character was depicted as underage in the series for a majority of the run time.
Isn't that like saying Madeline Zima should have been banned from getting topless in Californication because she's more famous for being the little girl in the Nanny?

Mm, yes I am susceptible to unnecessary hyperbole at times but you have to understand the reasoning is to prevent pedos from having a loophole to draw underage subjects, the law doesnt care about the body type or the modified age of the subject only the subjects "actual" age, or its standing in its most popular form, you might be upset about it but from the perspective of law it does make sense especially in regards to actual living persons.

If thats hard to understand, then perhaps this hypothetical situation might make it more clear,

say there is a famously cute little girl and a particularly devious person draws a porno of the girl but he draws her when she is 18 years old and doing some pretty gross stuff. the parents of that girl might not be so keen about it regardless of how old she is depicted, you have to understand that its still a depiction of a MINOR, even if that minor is a cartoon.

I understood your original comment but not this one,
if this person is depicting a matured character then I don't see a problem with that regardless of the reference material.
Also in most countries for something to be classified as child porn there has to be an actual child involved in the material.
I do agree that depicting underage characters in sexually explicit ways is pretty messed up and gross even if it's just a cartoon.
