Keep doing it.

I'm not a keen follower of speed paintings; I'd rather see people paint quickly because they are capable, rather than watch 4 hours work in 2 minutes.

But because they're not animations? Sod those guys, anybody who says "it shouldn't be in the portal" when there is nothing anywhere that says they are disallowed should be ignored.

Anything that gives the movie portal more substance is fantastic, and could be a perfect accompaniment to a great art portal submission.

Well my man technically speaking, Newgrounds is not really a place for speed paints, but if you remember my comment on your previous video, i have some personal agenda with selfish motives that may end in my telling you to do it, you see, right now places where an speed paint can be uploaded are, DeviantArt, Youtube, Twicht, the last of these 3 are not really art oriented, and the first one sucks at videos, and the community feedback is quite poor, so while it would be not against the rules to upload it, some people may not like it, i say do it, because i have this theory that seems obvious to myself, that speed paints are a raw material waiting to be exploited, your previous success somehow backs me up, but it could be better, and possibly when NG is not down under maintenance XD, anyway the idea was born in here http://sabtastic.newgrounds.com/news/post/852800 by Mr. VicariousE, and i am trying to polish it, then present it to the Newgrounds staff, or Vicarious will do it if he sees them on any reunion.

But the incredible point here is you, if you manage to just upload content this can get attention and the idea will get way less opposition, well is not like we have found any, but we haven't found a team that would develop it neither. So we have this thing that people like, and there is not a real place that can host it like it is supposed to, under the conditions that is supposed to be, in addition i plan to postulate the addition of collaboration uploads or credits to the art portal much like all the other portals have already, and a dedicated section for streaming and speed art videos, tutorials etc inside the art portal.

But yeah right now is just what sound to be a real idea without physical backing inside NG, and just some proofs outside Newgrounds in places that don't translate all that well, or could help as references, on the other hand, various artist here like to host live streams already, but none of those really find their way back here, and in 2 years your video may be the 1st one being an speed paint, so i say go ahead try it and wait until an staff member tells you to stop, or the general users turn incredible displeased, if an staff member shows up, perfect, they have to acknowledge they are missing something great, if is the users then bad luck there XD.

Also yeah, i may be using you here, but is for Newgrounds well being, plus yours!

I'll admit I've been a bit on the fence about speed paintings because I could see a flood of them coming, but at the same time it does gel with the whole "create new things" vibe of Newgrounds, so I feel like I should give it my blessing... I guess I'm in "wait and see" mode to see if they start flooding out the movies. If we fully endorse, NG should have an official genre for them and if they start to flood out regular movies, we could always try filtering them into their own unique listing.

Man that is great, you got a reply by the one and only Tom, and it was faster than i thought it was going to be, but you know? i don't really fear if we get flooded by speed paint videos, like i say in your Adventure Time one, if something like that happens it just means that NG has acquired a new medium that doesn't has a real place to be hosted, since well is new after all, so to give it an official genre would be great, aren't you happy this is going well?

Yeah, it is very subjective. I think it should be allowed in the portal. But I think people need to vote on it according to standards of a movie not a picture. I am guilty of that myself, for that last movie you made, I gave it a very good score. Probably the same score I would have given it in the art portal. But with most movies I vote according to 3 things "time, effort, quality". This video is definitely quality, but it didn't take any time, and while you did put effort, 2 hours of effort really isn't that much effort, so maybe I voted too high. But then again didn't it take years of effort to gain this ability? Hahaha, conundrum. Anyway I really enjoyed the Adventure speedpainting, I would really enjoy seeing something like that again.
